Magic: The Gathering - Urborg Mindsucker

Painted by Tony Diterlizzi, this guy came out all the way back in 1997. He wasn't a very good card, but I used him anyway because I pretty much only played the game to assemble a deck I thought was cool. I really like the hunched, hairy stature of this Illithid-like parasite. It reminds me a lot of a giant tick due to the shape of its weird lips, which look like they might be able to retract into its face.

This card's creature type was simply "mindsucker." It was once quite common for a creature's type to simply be its name, but Wizards stopped doing this and began to use "horror" or "beast" for all the miscellaneous weirdos. This would have obviously been a horror, had it come out later.
